Hello, fellow squirrels. Today, I will be talking about passwords in a nutshell.
What makes a strong password?
There are many factors that can make a strong password. The first is to have long passwords that are 12 characters or longer. The longer the password is, the harder it is to crack the acorn that you are trying to protect. The next thing you can do to make your passwords even stronger is to make it made up of a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters with numbers and symbols mixed into it. It is important that you try to avoid making a pattern like 123 or qwert. You will also want to ovoid using name, birthdays, or important events related to you since those will be the first thing hacker will try when they breaking in. Next this you can use is a passphrase witch is combines random words that don’t usually go together to make a password, an example of this would be “GiraffeToast99$MoonDance!”. Lastly, don’t repeat passwords for different things. Once hackers get in with it, they will try and use it on others, and if you used that password for them, the hackers will have an easy in.

Why is it bad to have a weak password?
First off, a weak password is easy to guess, allowing people to get into your accounts. Depending on what accounts they get in a lot of stuff can happen. If they get into your banking accounts, they can drain all of your money and ruin your credit score. If they get into your work accounts, they can ruin your job and the company you work for. If they get into your social media accounts, they can ruin your reputation.
How can you remember all your passwords?
One of the best ways to do this is to use password managers. These are used for storing, generating strong and secure passwords, and has them in an encrypted. With password managers, you will only need to memorize one password. Some examples of managers are LastPass, 1Password, Bitwarden, Keeper, NordPass, RoboForm, Dashlane, and there are many, many more. Everyone has their own pros and cons. I encourage you to look them up and see which one works for you.
That’s all for today’s cyber-stuffed nutshell! Remember, staying alert is half the battle… and now you’ve got acorn-sized wisdom packed for future defense.
